3 Ways To Sell Daily Part 2

By: Melissa Lin

Welcome back to another episode of the Fierce Business Babe Podcast. So excited for today's episode: Three ways to Sell Daily Part Two, because yes, we have done part one already. And I'll chat about that as we get going into today's episode. So, a few days ago. It was actually, I believe it was on Friday on my Instagram stories. I went on a bit of a rant about sales and the importance of it in your business. So many reached out saying, thank you for this reminder, it's so helpful. And that yes, sales does get to become a habit in their businesses. And so no matter what day of the week it is no matter what season of the year, it is one of my non-negotiables and my business is to sell every single day, every single day. And I truly mean every single day we get to sell. We get to share our gifts with the world. We get to share and show others how we can help them solve a problem that they may have. And this past weekend, actually, I spent it all of it off of my business and believe it or not, I was not in my business this weekend. I don't work weekends. I normally work roughly four where it was per day or so during the week. And sometimes more than that, if I want to take a Friday off and sort of that sort of thing. But anyway, I spent that weekend or one of the days, this weekend on a yacht here in Seattle with some of my closest friends and my boyfriend, and then spent Sunday off social media with my self-care Sunday. And you might be wondering, well, how exactly do you do that? How do you sell on the weekends? Like if you say you sell every day, then you gotta be selling on the weekends. How do you do that? If you're not actually spending the entire day working. And that's actually something that I will be diving into in today's brand new podcast episode with you. And I cannot wait because selling is one of my many, many favorite topics to chat about with you, because it is such a big aspect of your business, right? Without sales, without selling, you don't necessarily have a business. You really have more about a hobby. So I can't wait to get into it with you.

Every “No” You Hear is One Step Closer to a “Yes”

And this past week, actually the topic of sales came up in almost every single one of my coaching programs. And some of the stories that I was hearing from my clients were I'm afraid people are going to think I'm sleazy, or I'm afraid I'm gonna say the wrong thing, or I'm afraid they're going to say no. And that they're going to reject me. And at the end of the day, sales and selling is so much bigger than just me. It's so much bigger than this. It's about the impact and the service that we're here to create. Selling us, truly serving, selling is serving. Selling is helping and we can only do so if we actually get out there and sell. So every “No” that you hear, actually gets you one step closer to that. Yes, that's on his way to you. And sales is a skill. It's a skill you get to practice. So, you know, maybe in your first month or two in your business, you may hear a few more “no’s”, but then you're going to start to hear some “Yeses” and some more guesses as you start to really focus on your sales skills and start to improve that. As well, and as you start to hear more “Yeses”, you're going to be able to look at some of the numbers in the backend and you'll know like, okay, for every 10 sales calls I get onto, I can close a five of them. And that means that you can then scale from there and know some of the things that you also get to improve and work on. Right? How can we start to improve some of those sales numbers?  So anyways, back to today's episode, today's episode, it's all about, of course sales. So specifically we have got to get into three ways that you can sell a this week. And we're going to give you some actual examples and case studies for when I did each of these sales tips and so much more.

Waiting for that Permission Slip

As I mentioned in the beginning of this episode, sales gets to become a habit in your business.

So if we think about it, let's think about department stores, for example, or grocery stores. You know, these are some businesses that we, most of us, go to weekly. They don't stop selling. They are selling every single day. Well, because they're a business, but aren't you also running a business or wanting to start a business. How does it make it any different for you? Spoiler alert it doesn't. So maybe you're thinking to yourself. “Well, Melissa, I just, I don't want to be getting on Instagram stories every single day and telling my audience to buy from me. They're going to get tired of me. They're going to get sick of me, either not going to come back”, which I wouldn't necessarily argue with you, right. Selling daily, it does not mean that you need to hop on stories every day. “Hey, I'm a coach. Come work with me” or, “Hey, I'm a service provider. I help you ABC come buy from me” right? There are dozens and dozens of various sales activities. And I'm going to be going into detail on a few of them today in this episode with you. And I want you to also just keep in mind and remember that some people just need different permission slips from you. So not everyone's going to see her Instagram story, not everyone's going to see your email, not everyone's going to see your caption. And even if they do, some simply just need a different permission slip. Right? So for example, in the past week, I've had quite a few reach out via DMS about programs. We've had some people reach out via DMS. Tell me they're ready to invest into our higher level mastermind based on an Instagram story, they saw that they related to that. I've had somebody applying for one of our programs that we've never spoken to before they found us some other way, probably the podcast. And we do have analytics. So we will, we'll dive deeper into that as we get further into that application process, if they are a fit, of course. And then I have, let's see, what else have we had? We've had somebody else apply. And they've actually been in my community for quite some time,  I want to say almost a year, probably a year or so. And we've tried multiple times. And so some people simply need a different permission slip and that's totally okay. Some may prefer to answer polls on your Instagram stories. Some may stay lurking and some may stay creeping on all of your stuff and then apply when they feel called to it. Somebody open tomorrow's email. If you're sending an email out and apply. And something, I do also want to say, I know I keep adding, like tip on tip on tip, but something else I do want to add is that for anybody that does lurk, or if you have lurkers in your audience, which you do, I want to let you know you do right for every one person who does reach out or for every one person who does apply, there are 20 to 30 more lurking. Waiting for that right permission slip for them. So give them some type of call to action for those who are lurking, give them a call to action. The clearer and easier it is for them to take action. The more likely it is that they will actually take action.

Episode 108

Okay. So you've probably known that today's podcast episode is titled Three Ways to Sell in Your Business Part Two. And that's because I've done a part one before, and it was one of our more viral episodes. So because of that, I wanted to continue and add more ways that you can sell in your business because there are dozens and dozens of ways you can do this and dozens of ways you can be selling in your business each day. If you're wanting to listen to that first episode, go to yes. Do cover three ways. And those three ways will not be the same ways that I covered today because I love sharing all the value with you, but make sure to bookmark or write down in your notebook episode 108. So 1 0 8, that is the episode number and go and listen to it. After you listened to today's episode, none of these are in any particular order. They're all versions of sales activities that you could be doing in your business. So as a sneak peek, if you have not listened to episode 1 0 8, I do cover three ways which consist of selling through your freebies, a sales activity, where you can sell all of your current offers at once that you have available. Which is something that we do very often in my business. So for example, at the moment, we are enrolling into multiple programs. So if you've created foundations near business already, and you are ready to take your business to the next level, which would look like scaling to 10K months in your business, I would recommend checking out and applying for. My six-figure fierce business mastermind, where we get you consistent 10K months. And we really focus on your launch strategy. We focus on starting some of your bigger funnels. We focus on hiring team members and starting to really add in more systems that your whole business can start to streamline. And so that you can start to serve more people without working more. And my goal is to cut your hours way down to where you want it to be. Again, I've been at 20 hours. For quite some time now, and we're still growing every single month, so you can too, so it definitely recommends my six figure for your specific mastermind. I said that kind of fast. So six figure fierce business mastermind. And if you've already reached the 8 to 10K a month mark in your business by a higher level mastermind. Fiercely scale is what I would recommend as they help you to scale to the 20 to 30 K months or multiple six figures in your business. And so in that episode, 108, I also give you tips on how you can directly sell to your hottest leads on your lead tracker. So again, check out episode 108. I dive deep into all of these things. So check it out. If you haven't. Now let's get back to this episode and dive into our three ways that you can be. And your business part two, here we go.

Utilize Newsletters

So for this episode, the first way that you can be selling in your business daily is that you can email your list this week and how to work with you. So for example, we did this recently. We actually did this yesterday. So every single week today's Tuesday. So every single week we send out an email to our list, reminding them about our newest podcast episodes as they release, which we do release every Monday morning. So hint, hint, if you're on my email list and if you go look and take a look, open the email and check out at the bottom, you'll see exactly how we share our lists. A way that they can apply to work with myself and my team this week for one of the offers that we have available. If we do have anything open, we usually have something open depending on what season of the year it is. We have different offers open at different times of year. And so that is what we do at least once per week via email, because we pushed the podcast. We do this multiple times throughout the week or emails. Don't always exactly. Look like this other times, it may share all the ways to work with us that month. And we'll do this from time to time and our newsletter that we share. And in that newsletter, we have multiple values on pieces, right? We, if you are over on my Instagram, you know, I send out IGTV’s every week. We do a lot of training on our stories. So much value training, workshops, and to show the ways that you can work with me that month in that newsletter. Sometimes we'll just put out a value post with the way to work with me that month. So that is the first thing you can do. You can set up some kind of email that you send to your list every other week, every week, if you want to and how they can work with you, you can sell via your email marketing. Yes. Email marketing is still a thing. Yes. We sell via email marketing every single month. And so it's definitely something that you can start to get into your rotation and create a sales calendar. Definitely would do so. And yes, we have a podcast episode all around how to create a sales counter. And I do lots of training around this and support my clients with this very in depth as well. And so would start to brainstorm how you want to be selling them various ways throughout the week. So that's one thing you can do.

Sharing Social Proof

The second thing that I want to share in today's episode, another way that you can be selling on your business is you can go ahead and share social proof in your Instagram stories and a call to action. Your stories of, “Hey DM me with this word, like with word mastermind or word scale, to learn how you can be our next success story”. Right? We did this recently in our business. For example, you'll probably see it this week as well. If you go creep in my story, we will be doing it this week. We do this in various ways throughout the month. And this week we will be doing it for our six figure mastermind, which I had mentioned to help you get to 10k months. And Fiercely Scale, which we help you get to 20 to 30K months. And that Fiercely Scale is my program where you get the most hands-on support with me. So it's private access, private calls, private Voxer throughout the entire container. So if that's about the level that you're at, definitely reach out to me to learn more about it, but you can do the same thing for your business. You can share social proof on your Instagram stories or as a caption, but this example is an Instagram story. So I'm going to stick to the three ways for this episode until I have a part three or part four, wink, wink. Let me know if you want it. But share social proof in your Instagram stories, plus a call to action, to DM you a word, to learn how to be that next success story. So we have, for example that's how I grew my business in the beginning. I didn't have a full on website. I didn't have all these fancy sales pages. I pushed my audience to reach out to me and let me know if they were interested or needed support or wanting to be our next success story. Again, you can see. So many different ways throughout the week. And that's something that you can do. People want to see that social proof and some people need to, for some people that's going to be their permission slip because it's also showing them what's possible for them, right? It's not just you showing off the wins, you help your clients by showing others what's possible for them. And that is the permission slip for a lot of people. So definitely get out there. And maybe this is something that you start to do. Once a week in your Instagram stories and there's your sales activity for the day, however, you don't need to stick to just one sales activity, because again, not everyone's going to see every single story, every single post, every single item. However, I want you to start to create a habit of it. So, if it's one sales activity per day, amazing. Let's create a habit out of that. And then you can start to do multiple per day. As you continue to scale your business, where you have team members who can help you do some of this, because yes, your team can be selling for you as well.

Sharing a Value Piece

Okay. Let's get into number three. So the third example you can. Sell today by sharing a value piece, though, a value Instagram caption, or Facebook caption with a call to action or go click the link in my bio. The first thing I want to say is make sure that link in your bio is for your application or for your sales page, or is something to book a call with. You make sure of the action you're giving your audience. So it's all put together, right? And if there's no link in your bio and you're telling them to go to your link in your bio, they're going to get confused and not take any action at all and completely forget about it. So for example from when we did this recently, um, we do this at least twice per week in our Instagram caption slash Facebook captions. We're adding value. And actually another one of my non-negotiables is adding value every single day. So, you know, almost all my non-negotiables in my business now. And if you follow me on Instagram stories and you probably already know them, but selling every single day and adding value every single day, then I've got one or two others as well.

These are examples that you can start to implement in your business, selling is serving. Let's create a habit of selling. The more that you sell, the more comfortable you're going to be with it. And the better you're going to get at it, the better you're going to get at actually asking for the sale. Right? If I've asked you if I got on the phone with you and asked you like, “Okay, how many times this week have you actually. Asked for the sale where you've asked somebody, “Hey, have you thought about applying for my program? Hey, have you thought about purchasing my course?” Are you directly asking for the sale or are we just beating around the bush? Right. Let's go be bold. Let's start selling because it's serving. People cannot buy from you or sell from you or people can not buy from you if they don't know what you have to offer. Right here, I go on another sales rant to go sell, sell, sell, sell. And as I give you these examples, I hope that you're able to see how you can start selling and multiple ways throughout the week. So selling is serving and my challenge for you today is to step outside of your comfort zone and do one of these sales activities so that you can. One step closer to selling more often.

So, today we've touched on three ways you can sell this week, actual examples and case studies for when we did interviews. More of a sales tip, a little sales rant to the end, a very loving sales rant of course, and so much more. We're already getting ready and so excited for next week's podcast episode. And I cannot wait to share with you. We will see you next week and another brand new episode on the Fierce Business Babe Podcast.
