Today, I am diving into all of the details you need to know about my upcoming birthday sale. I am also going to be giving you some tips and tricks for creating urgency throughout the year in your business so that you can sign more clients.

Welcome back to another episode of The Fierce Business Babe Podcast. We are here for another new episode and I’m so excited. It's been such an exciting summer so far. I know so many of my clients and others on social media are taking so many fun vacations and it's so fun to see everybody out and about.

I hope you’re having an amazing summer, we’re just about halfway through. It’s time to get into today’s brand new episode, which is all about my birthday sale. I want to get into how to create urgency throughout the year for your evergreen programs, my birthday sale details, and some tips and tricks for you to create urgency this week so that you can be signing more clients. I really want to first get into how to create urgency throughout the year, especially for evergreen programs. I've had so many people reach out to me asking how I'm able to continue my rolling enrollment, have so many evergreen programs, and really make it look fairly easy. Of course, there are a lot of things going on behind the scenes, and I support all of my clients with this as well. Again, evergreen programs are not for everybody. There's no right or wrong way to build your business. It's really about building your business in a way that's going to support the life that you want to live.

CREATING URGENCY IN EVERGREEN PROGRAMS

First I want to talk about how to create urgency throughout the year for your evergreen programs. Most of my programs now are evergreen. If you're brand-new to business, when I say evergreen I'm speaking about my programs in a way where there is no true open date or close date, it’s rolling. Some people call that rolling enrollment, others call it revolving door or evergreen; all of those words are very interchangeable. In an evergreen program anybody can hop in today and get started. We also have a lot of evergreen funnels to support people rolling in and getting started weekly. We fill multiple spots in all of our programs every single week. 

Let's get into why you want to create urgency. What is the purpose of it? Maybe you're asking yourself, “Melissa, can’t I just talk about my offers? Shouldn’t that be enough?” At the end of the day, one thing that most humans feel safe around is when they have their money. People feel safe if they have their money. A lot of the time if we give people forever to spend their money or to make a decision, they will take forever to spend their money or make a decision. Creating urgency is not forcing anybody to say yes or no, because that is not the goal. You should not need to convince anybody. It's all about helping them speed up that decision making process, regardless if it's a yes or no. Helping them make that decision is the goal when it comes to urgency. Life is short and we are here to support those who really want to get that transformation and move the needle forward. People get to step out of their comfort zones and we get to help them speed up that decision making process. If their answer is no, no worries, there are so many more yeses coming your way. 

I don't want you to be afraid of rejection. I think that's the reason why some people stay away from creating urgency. This is what I've seen, especially in beginner business owners and coaches. Not everybody is going to be a fit for you or your program; It's really about you being available for those who are. Not everybody is ready for my highest level Mastermind, not everyone is at six figures and ready to scale to multiple six figures. I am also not the coach for everybody. Not everyone wants to have the support or the things that I have inside of my program, maybe they’re looking for other things and that's totally okay. There are so many other clients coming your way that are worth it, so we do want to create urgency to speed up that decision making process. That is the purpose of it, and you can do so in a few different ways.

Some business owners create urgency with limited time. Some like to create urgency with a limited number of spots left. Some like to create urgency with a mix of both. Others create urgency with expiring bonuses. There are multiple ways to create urgency. Let's go through an example for you. Let’s say you have an evergreen program in your business. A way that you can create urgency is hosting an event every month, we did this quite a bit last year. Maybe you host a workshop every month that relates to your program and you pitch your program at the end of it. You can add a 48-hour fast action bonus at the end of the workshop. That's creating urgency so anyone who does enroll within those 48 hours will get this amazing bonus. You created urgency to speed up that decision making process. So yes, we want to create a urgency, especially through your evergreen programs. A big objection you will hear with anyone who is interested in your evergreen program is, “well, I'll think about it and I'll come back to you next month.” You want to have some ways to handle those objections because there is no better time than right now to get started. Again, life is so short. There is no better time than right now to get started. You get to remind your audience and those leads that are interested in your program of this. 

Another way you can create urgency is by letting them know that once they show interest they have a limited time to let you know whether it's a yes or no. Let them know that if they want to come back later, they'll need to go through the application process again and that the price may be increasing. For example, we do price increases at least once a year. This year we are increasing prices twice. We just had one price increase and we will be doing another one closer towards the end of the year. So again, there are a lot of different ways to create urgency.

MY 2023 BIRTHDAY SALE

Now let's get into my birthday sale! My birthday is right around the corner, I am so excited. I love summer birthdays. I love the summer because my birthday is in the summer. I'm a summer baby and I love the sun. Before I get into the details about my birthday sale, let me share a little bit about something that I love to do. I love to spice things up in my business and do fun things around different times of the year. As I mentioned, most of my programs are evergreen at the moment. One way that I create urgency throughout the year is with some mini launches, hosting  workshops, and 48-hour fast action bonuses. I also like to add any bonuses that pop up at certain times throughout the year, and for the past few years I have been doing a birthday sale. Am I going to do this every year? I'm not sure. You can definitely add in more urgency or bonuses.

This year I want to gift some goodies during my birthday week, because why not? We’re celebrating fun, amazing things during birthday week. I also have a lot of friends who have birthdays during the same week, so I'd love to get started with a birthday sale. TIPS FOR CREATING URGENCY

Now I want to get in to do some tips for you to create urgency this week to sign more clients. Something you can do if you have an offer currently that you're sharing is add a limited-time pop-up bonus. Maybe it’s a limited number of spots, so for the next two people that apply and enroll into my program, you will get this bonus for the next 24 hours. You may want to do 48 hours depending on if you do sales calls or not because you'll need some time to get that sales call booked after they apply. Now, if you don't necessarily want to add bonuses to your current offer, you can also add bonuses for future offers, but sell them now. We sell multiple offers throughout the month all of the time. We fill spots in multiple programs throughout the week and talk about our multiple programs all throughout the week. We've also pre-sold spots into some of our programs two to three months prior to the program actually starting. There are so many different options, and that's what I love so much about running your own business. You’re the CEO, so you can make the rules. You get to sell whatever you want, whenever you want. You get to add bonuses and urgency whenever you want. You get to do whatever feels right for you and your business.
