You need to take time off and give your body that rest and that energy and you need to have playtime in your life and in your business. I always tell my clients this if they are feeling this way and I tell them to stop what they’re doing, stop working, go play and take a day off. And the minute they come back, their energy is filled and their cup is filled back up and that is because they have that energy on their stories,  through their content and everything.

With that being said, Let’s jump into the goodness of this podcast!


You know how much I love chatting business, sales, content so that is exactly what I chat about in this episode!My current round of The Fierce Fitness Business Academy is going through sales right now. I am going to really dive deep into the things that I covered this past week with my girls because it is one of the biggest struggles I always see people really struggle with, selling.

What is actually the method to sell?


There are sooo many ways to sell right now, it’s pretty incredible, we can sell through Instagram, stories, dm, posts, facebook posts, lives, messenger, emails, websites, sales calls. Pretty much, anything and everything you can think of.

But which of these will be the best way of selling for your business? Which is actually the best for you?

Personally, I have sold tens of thousands through Instagram DM’s, Facebook messenger, sales calls, through websites, Instagram stories, emails, basically all of those things that I mentioned before. But I am very strategic about which ones I am using during different seasons of my business. We’ll chat about some of the more “basic” methods and then we’ll also chat about more of those other methods.


Starting a business can feel so overwhelming, but you really want to only focus on a few different things in those early stages. I truly believe in “the simpler the better”. Simplicity is incredible,especially in the beginning of your business, and the minute I officially shut down my website and stopped my ten million programs and really focused on my one signature program, that’s when it really all came together for me. This same thing is going to happen for you when it comes to selling on different platforms. If you are trying to sell on 10 different platforms, it’s going to be extremely difficult to put your energy into it. You’re going to be giving each platform a quarter of your energy, instead of focusing on one that you could really master. So we’ll talk about some of the main methods.

Main Methods:

  1. Instagram DM’s

  2. Facebook Messenger

  3. Sales Calls


Comparing the two, Sales Calls vs. DM’s, when people hop on sales calls with you, they’ve already seen your value, they know who you are, they see what you bring to the table, they see your value. This is why they filled out an application to hop on a sales call with you. They know who you are, they’re ready to go. But when you’re in the DM’s or on IG stories that leads them to the DM and you’re trying to get them to buy your program, your audience may not see your value just yet.

We really need to start to lead with value and deliver for free with live trainings, mini IG trainings, and deliver as much value so that they start to see your value. We need to remember that on social media, your value is your pitch. This shows that you know what you are talking about and it is going to help you gain trust with them, and as they do that you’re not going to need to be raising your hand everyday saying, “HEY, I’m a coach, come work with me.”


“Lead with your value. That is your pitch.”


They will be attracted to this and they are going to see some sort of tangible return that you provide and they’re going to want more and they are going to come chasing you. That is the really big difference from your audience's eyes.

The difference from these 2 methods from a business owners eyes, is that with Facebook messenger and Instagram DM, you’re able to build connections more easier than back in the day when we didn’t have voice and video messaging. Selling is all about human connection, you can really create a deep connection with a potential client if you’re chatting with them via voice or video messaging. Really sharing their pain and pleasure points, your solution that you offer and how life can really look once they get to the other side of working with you.

We are always selling what life will look like and not what they’ll have to learn through the journey. You can build a connection through this method very well. But, there is a drawback if you’re trying to sell in the DM’s. People can and will “ghost you”. People are in the DM and they get the link from you for the payment and they ghost you because their fears start to come in after they talk to their friends, family, and whoever else, and their fears start to set. in. This is one of the scariest things for them, when someone hops off the phone or DM with you, they have all these other fears, they tell you it’s the money, but they have all these other fears such as, “what are my friends going to think of me if I say no to happy hour and go to the gym instead?”,”What will my girlfriends think of me if I don’t want to have an entire bottle of wine with them every friday night?”. What will my parents think of me if I don’t want to have the lasagna with them every single weekend?” They will start to drawback and start to listen to what others are going to start saying, “That they can do it on their own”. People do ghost because of this.


SO, the most effective way is through sales calls. I love sales call so much because honestly, I talk to you like I am your best friend. We talk about your fears,  things holding you back, everything. The big difference between sales calls and DM is you can create a much deeper connection with someone on a 30-40 minute sales video call and it helps so much to determine for me as well to make sure that they are the right fit for whatever it is. While you’re talking about all of those pain points and connecting via video call, it can get very emotional and I have had many calls where the other person has cried and that is great, because I want you to be able to feel and go into those emotions and talk about the scary stuff. They do this because I’m holding the space for them to be open with me and it is very difficult to do this over the DM’s. You just can’t open that space to dig into fears and to talk about the real scary stuff that have been holding them back, you just have to get on a video call for that opportunity to connect on that level. I remember a few years ago, I was terrified to get on sales calls and just said that I would continue to market through Instagram and find my sales that way. If this is what you are doing to land high ticket on social media and you’re not even willing to try, I am calling you out!


1. You’re letting your fear hold you back from getting on the phone and holding that space for potential clients.

2. You’re being lazy in your business!


I want you to get on the phone to see if this person is really a good fit, is this person someone who is going to truly impacted by my program, is this person truly someone who needs me right now? Maybe they need like a higher ticket program that you offer. So you really want to open that space so that you can truly connect with them and talk to them about these things. So, I’m not saying that there’s anything wrong with selling through the DM’s but if you want to have an even higher success rate, sales calls are going to be so successful. 9 out of 10 when someone gets off the phone with you or is in the DM’s with you, they are not going to follow through because of their fears, pain, their true goals and struggles.


My recommendation:

  • The best method for you is going to be the method that you have practiced and the one that you enjoy.


I truly love sales calls because I love getting to know them and see whether I can help them or not. If you are a coach trying to sell your services, hop on sales calls, that will be the most effective. If you are trying to sell a lower end passive product, sell through your instagram stories, email list, live trainings, if that’s what you want to do and your time is more valuable than hoping on a call to sell a $20 ebook.


This week I challenge you to hop on a sales call. If you have a high ticket program get on a sales call. You want it to be a win win surrounding selling.

At the end of the day you want to get on the phone and create a deep connection because selling is about human connection, you can only get so far in the DM.
