Now, let's dig into your very own $10K month roadmap. I remember, you know, just thinking back in business before I hit my first 10K month. I remember how far away it felt and I can't wait to go into this episode with you because once you reach the 10K month mark, it is easy. Its your new norm. And then you move into the 15K, 20K, 30k, 50K months & beyond and I'm so excited because this is so possible for you and it can happen so much quicker than than you think it's going to happen.
So many feel that it's going to be like, okay, My first month will be $500 then my second month will be $1,000. Then the third month is $2000 and the sixth month is $3,000 then you have to go up baby step by baby-step and that really isn't the case. I've had so many women come into my programs and in my Mastermind, where they were making anywhere from a thousand to $3000 a month and the very next month. They reached $10K and then jumped right up to 15$K. It does not need to be a slow paced slow-growth. It can be as quick as you wanted to be.
The 10K Month Mindset
So the first thing we get to do is we first get into mindset around 10K months, and then we're going to go into the shift that you get to make and then some action steps. because we all love these action steps,right? Now, I remember that I celebrated my first 10K month before it even happened. You're probably thinking to yourself, “ Melissa, That sounds crazy. Why would I celebrate it before it even happened?” Well, I knew that in order to hit my first 10K month I needed to step into the woman that was already hitting them consistently and this is something I continue to do today. Like, I'm always stepping into the woman that is hitting consistent 100K months, 500k months and always stepping into that next level of me, that version of me, and not even just the next level but two to three levels ahead always. So back then, before hitting my 10K a month, I would ask myself, “Okay, what would the $10K month version of Melissa do? What would she do?” She would get out there and she would take committed action every single day no matter how scary it felt. Then I ask myself. “Okay, how would she react when she got on the sales calls? Well, she would not be afraid of rejection. She would utilize the time to really show her potential clients that the vision for them is so possible and show them what was truly holding them back.” I wouldn't sit there on the sales call and be in fear and be worried about 12. What if they say no what if they have objections? What if this? what if that? I was so focused on them and their vision and I would always ask myself, “how would the 10K month version of Melissa be? How would she act? Who would she be?” and I always stepped fully into that.
Now, one of my favorite things to always ask myself is how she would treat herself, to celebrate, and this is something I'm always doing. If you want to be on Instagram stories or if you're anywhere in my community, you know, I love to celebrate wins, big wins, little wins. I do this with all my clients. I was actually talking to my boyfriend about this today because we ordered some food and groceries and stuff to get delivered to us and I ordered some champagne. Champagne or Prosecco, are definitely one of my bigger items that I love to drink. I say if we ever have any kind of alcoholic drink, it's usually always Prosecco or champagne these days, because I'm always celebrating. That’s my way to celebrate, is to pop a bottle and cheers a glass and just enjoy it and it gets to be celebrated. That’s something that a lot of us forget to do. So how would that version of you celebrate your 10K month. Well, she would probably treat herself consistently not just once but always stepping into that next level of treating herself with fancy dinners, weekend getaways, first class tickets, maybe post covid, because she’s worthy of it. She's worthy of treating herself. So, those are the things I want you to start to think about. Your mindset around 10K months, you really get to shift that mindset before any of the strategies are going to work, before anything logistic. You have to work on your mindset first, if your mindset is not worked on, it's going to be very hard to catch up on that and it's going to be very hard to be consistent around that next level that you're stepping into.
Making Shifts In Your Business
So now that we chatted about mindset, we get to chat about the three shifts that you get to start to make so that you can start making and achieving those 10K months in your business. Now, these shifts, I came up with because they are the shifts that I needed to make when I first transitioned and made my first $10K month and then $15K month and they're the same shifts my clients make as well. And these are the same shifts that my clients have used that help them reach six figures and multiple six figures. Now you can too.
Get Comfortable With The Uncomfortable
So the first shift that we really get to work on and actually take action on is starting to get comfortable with the uncomfortable. You've probably heard me say this before, it's time for you to get comfortable with the uncomfortable. It is time to step up. It is time to play big. Let's go put our big girl pants on, no more playing small. We get to step out of our comfort zone and go and do something that you wouldn't normally do. Maybe it's being a little more consistent with going live on Facebook or Instagram. Maybe it's you increasing your prices. Right, that is something that's very uncomfortable for a lot of people. Maybe its you asking for the sale more, you hoppin on more sales calls, you actually asking someone in the DMs, “Hey, would you like to purchase my program?”, asking for the sale, things that make us uncomfortable. Because we will not be moving into that next level version of us until we're uncomfortable. We are where we are right now, in this moment. If you are consistently having a $2K month over and over, It’s because you're stuck in your comfort zone, you're doing the same things over and over and over and you will not be able to move forward into the $5K month, $10K month, $20K month, until you start to do something different and that different thing is most likely going to be a little out of your comfort zone. So you get to get out of your comfort zone and know that for you to serve more people and help more people and just create a bigger impact that does mean you got to step out of your comfort zone.
Then the second shift we got to start to get into, and this is one of my favorite shifts because I avoided it for so long, (I laugh about it because I remember before making this shift, I was just like I was in the doing of my business so much. I was spending hours and hours and hours and hours every single day doing things and now I don't). Now I'm working four and 5 hour days at the multiple six figure business level, going to seven figures, almost there. You can be there too, it does not need to be that constant grind and hustle. That so many entrepreneurs say you've got to do and still have to do once you continue to move into the multiple 6 and 7 figures. It does not need to be that way, we get to choose how our businesses run and you get to create systems that help you run it the way you want to run it.
Building Your Team
Now, the second shift is we get to grow your team. You get to ditch the one-woman show and the reason I'm talking about this is because I was the best one woman show out there literally, like if you Googled one-woman show you probably would have found me. I avoided hiring for so long. I hired my first hire in 2018, my first VA, and now I have an incredible team of 7, but I was the best one woman show. I remember telling myself over and over, My mentors would even tell me, “hire Melissa, hire help, hire help, hire help.” You don't need to do this alone. And I would tell myself the stories which might sound familiar to you. The stories of “well, I can do it better. I can do it faster. It's going to take me longer to train someone to do it than just do it myself. I don't trust you enough to do it. I know my business the best, I'm going to do it the best.” Right? How familiar does that sound? Well, I could not have been more wrong. So yes, it may take a little bit of time to train somebody, however, you're training them once, maybe twice, and then boom you're done and they get to take that task on and start to do some of those things that you’re just doing over and over and over instead of you. You get to hire and delegate so that you can spend more of your time in your zone of genius and signing your dream clients instead of just doing, doing, doing. Like the admin stuff and organizing things and your systems and structure and some of those day-to-day things you don't need to do. You can outsource. I think one of the biggest misconceptions a lot of people have is that it's insanely expensive to outsource and it's not. You don't need to spend thousands and thousands every single month when you're just starting to outsource and have your first hire, you really don't. You can hire a VA for 5 hours a week, 10 hours a week, whatever that may be and that's going to end up saving you 20 hours a month. Where you can be hopping on more sales calls and closing more deals so that you can serve more people and help more people. Trust me ladies, this is one of the best things you can do in your business.
What I do see in a lot of entrepreneurs is they'll hire their first hire, but they'll spend so much time training and making decisions for their new hire that they still feel like they’re spending a lot of time doing things because they aren't giving their new hires enough space and freedom to actually do and make decisions in the business by themselves. What happens is a lot of entrepreneurs in that early stage of hiring will end up firing and get back into the solopreneur and so you see, them going on this roller coaster of hire, fire, hire. Because they need more time back, fire. I can do it better. I can do it faster and higher again. You'll see them in that roller coaster because of that and as you start to hire, trust your team members and give them some of that decision making power. You don’t need to give them everything that they don't need to decide on everything. However, create some golden rules for them so that they know like okay, you know, if a chargeback comes back at $200, boom, we've got this, like, well give it back or if it's anything that's 500 or over, the CEO gets to make the decision. Have some golden rules around that and remember you get to ditch the one-woman show. It is going to bring you so much more than you could ever imagine. It is one of the reasons why I can work four hour work days. Part of it is my team, part of it’s also the systems and structures we’ve created in the business so that the business can still run without me in it every single day, 10 hours a day. So that's the second shift.
Serving More People
Now, the third shift is you get to serve more people and it's so exciting and this is so true. The more people that you serve the more success will come your way. What you are going to do is you just have to consider moving from one to one. Maybe your only offer right now is private coaching, which is amazing. However, you probably can’t handle 100 or 200 clients at the private coaching scale. You cannot get on 200 coaching calls every single month privately. It's just, if you do, like you're going to be in the grind and you're going to be working 24 hours Non-Stop. You get to talk to serve more by creating courses and group coaching programs and other things where you can serve more people on other containers. So that is something you should start to think about.
What Your Business Needs
Some of the things that you do and don't need, and this is us getting into the action item part of this, some of the things that you don't need; You don't need 10, 20, 30 items in your product suite to reach a $10K month. I can promise you ladies, you do not need that. You do not need a million gazillion things. You're only going to confuse your audience even more. You also don't need to spend 10 hours a day on social media. If you are spending that much time on social media right now, you are not being intentional with your time. This is some coach talk coming in here.. I'm comin in hot. You are not being intentional with your time. If you're spending 10 hours a day on social media, if you're spending more than even, I would say, even more than two hours a day on social media. You're not being intentional, you are getting distracted with scrolling and this and that, which is okay. Maybe you're not aware of it. But that's why I’m saying it right now. If you're spending a ton of time on social media everyday, we get to be more intentional and we can make some tweaks. We can make some ground rules have some golden rules around your social media time and there's really no need to be working 12-hour days or more in your business. This is a huge misconception.
This is what I believe to be true because this is how I want my business to run, there are some people who want to work 12-hour days in their businesses, That’s not me. I want to live my life while my business grows and scales and want you to know its possible for you too. I’m at the multiple six-figure, soon 7, and I have a 20 hour work week and it will stay this way as I continue into 7-Figures, in multiple seven figures, because of the way that we've built the business and you can do the same. You don't need to be working 12+ hours a day. What you do need, and here comes the action, you do need one or two very strong offers, very strong core offers, in your business that your ideal clients for that offer are going to love and just drool over, right? You’ve got the pain points. You've got the pleasure points. You've really hit it off. You’ve got those perfect, amazing one or two strong offers. Are those going to be your offers forever? Maybe, maybe not though. As you get past the 10K Month level, that's when you're really going to expand and create more and more offers in your product suite. We need to create a full-on customer Journey for your business. So that's one of the first things you do need if you don't have an offer in your business yet. Send me a DM on Instagram. So go through all of that and send me a DM and I can give you some feedback as well. So that is the first thing you need.
The second thing is you got to be targeting the right people on social media and actually building connections with them. This means you get to spend time outreaching, you get to spend time engaging with your ideal client. You get to be social on social media. Do you need to be the person to do this forever? No. you can definitely outsource this down the road. However, you get to be social on social media. People are not going to buy from you if they don't like, know and trust you and that's the same thing as you hit 10K, 20K, 30K. You get to chat with people who are interested in you and want to learn more about you and your offers, you get to be social on social media.
The third thing, are you taking notes? You get to add systems and strategy into your business so that you can start to work less while having your business run like a machine on the backend. Now, here's some examples and some things you can start to do, wherever you are right now in your business. You can start to automate your email sequences. So that's very hands off. As someone Opts-in to your freebie. They're going to get the download immediately and then go right into your funnel for whatever offer relates to that freebie. You can have your invoicing completely automated, you can have social media captions and it getting posted on social media completely automated. You can add systems and things in your business so that it's hands off and is running while you're not fully in the business. That's the third thing.
The fourth thing is continued mentorship as you grow. There will be new challenges as you grow and scale your business and move to that next level version. We don't know what we don't know. And so with that continued mentorship you get to continue to learn the things that you don't know, right? If you are wanting to create 10K months in your business, but you have no idea how the back end of a six-figure business is supposed to look like or can look like, not that yours needs to look like anybody else's. However, if you don't know what you don't know then you don't know. That mentorship is so important. I will always have a mentor in my corner with me, always. Because I don't know what I don't know in my business.
It’s so funny because I was actually talking to my boyfriend about this last night, the way that my business looks right now at multiple six-figures is nothing, and I mean nothing, like what it looked like when I was at 6 figures and when I was at six figures, that's nothing like what it looked like, you know, at 5 figures. I know my business, like we're already prepping on the back end of the systems and the structures, so that we are ready for the multiple seven-figure mark, like our business is ready for the seven figures. That's why we're going to hit it very soon. And then we're already getting ready for the multiple seven-figures. We're always prepping ahead. However, we would not have been able to if we didn't start to learn the things that we didn't know, right? So we get to continue that mentorship. If you don't have someone in your corner right now, I highly recommended it. It will speed up that process for you, tenfold. Oh, it's so incredible.
So now that you've gone through all of this, you have your very own 10K roadmap. You know some of the mindset shift to get to make, you know some shifts you get to make to start to make 10K months. You've got some action steps now. Remember, it doesn't take a ton to create your 10k month. You could bring on two private clients at $5,000 each. There's your 10K. You can bring on five group coaching clients at 2K each or 10 group coaching clients at 1K each. There are very easy, simple ways to create a 10K a month in your business and it doesnt need to be hard and doesnt need to be complicated. I know we love to make things hard and complicated.
