Today, I am diving into everything you need to know to hit your income goals this month and all the months after. We are going to chat about actions to stay consistent with in your business, some of my favorite mantras to inspire you to hit your goals, tricks for boosting your income, and so much more.
HOW TO HIT YOUR INCOME GOALS THIS MONTH

Welcome back to another episode of The Fierce Business Babe Podcast! Hello, hello, happy February.
Today's episode is all about how to hit your income goals this month. Something that I want to mention is that you can truly build a business that fits your dream lifestyle. One of the reasons why I wanted to bring up my trips I have been going on, and I'm actually about to be on one right now when this episode launches, and I wanted to share that with you because you truly can build a business that fits your dream lifestyle. Something else I want to mention is that my business that I've built over the years allows me to take at least one entire week off a month, which is so exciting. This is something I've always wanted and I've created that for myself. I'm able to do this and take a week off every month minimum, if not more, and my clients are still being supported while I'm away doing things. While I’m traveling my business is still growing and sales are still being made and so much more.
Now, we're a few days days into this new month and I want you to know that there's still so much time left in the month to reach your goals. I don't want that to be a reason to not lean into your business even more. There are so many different things you could do today to bring in another sale or two into your business this week, so I want to go into a lot of that. Some of the things we're going to be covering in today's episode include some mindset shifts to help you reach your goals this month, some of my favorite mantras, the actions that you need to stay consistent with to see those results you're looking for this month, some ways for you to generate some extra cash for this month, and, you know me, I love to add in some tips and tricks and so much more.
SHIFTING YOUR MINDSET
The first thing I really want to get into is mindset and some of the shifts that you can start making today so that you can reach your goal. In order to reach your goals you first must believe that you can actually reach them. If you have these goals, but in the back of your head you're asking yourself, can I really do this? Is this really going to be doable for me? I'm not sure, I've never done this before. Can I really do that? You're already telling yourself stories that you're not able to achieve that goal. We get to start to shift your mindset right now so that you truly believe that you can. I want to share some of my favorite mantras at the moment that support me in reaching my goals. I always want you to ask yourself, what would the next level version of me do? How would she react? What are some of the mindset shift mantras she has? What would she believe when it came to her launches, her sales, her clients coming in, her sales calls, whenever that looks like for you and your business.
So the first thing I want to share with you is that it's never the question of “if” my program is going to fill because then you're already getting into your head and getting that story ready of, “well, maybe it won't fill, it's never happened before.” Then you go into that downward spiral and then, if you’re anything like me, when that happens I start to self sabotage and we don't want that. We want to start to reframe that mindset right away. It's not “if” your program is going to fill or “if” your launch will be a success, it's about what you'll do once it does fill. We get to start telling ourselves and truly believing that it's going to fill and it's going to fill with my perfect soulmate ideal clients, and I'm going to be so excited to support them. With these new dream clients coming my way it will fill. It's happening, it’s inevitable, it is going to happen. Your success will come as long as you keep going. So how can you be available to support new clients once your program does fill? It's not about if it will fill, once it does fill, because it will. If you assumed your program would fill, how would you be showing up on social media right now? How would you be serving? How do you show up on your sales calls? What does that look like? What does that feel like? Start to get into that feeling and start to shift some of those stories that aren't serving you right now. It's not if, it's when, because it will happen as long as you keep going and really lean in.
Now I want to share a few of my current mantras that I just love, love, love, and if you are in any of my programs right now you hear them often because I share them with you too. My first one is, “I can handle anything that comes my way.” I had a recent podcast episode that really dove into some of the challenges that I personally have faced as a CEO and some that you may face as a CEO as well. So, I can handle anything that comes my way, and I truly do believe that. I've seen quite a number of things and I've had some moments where I truly felt like the entire business was going to burn down, but I know I can handle anything that comes my way. The next one is, “people love to pay me.” People love to pay me and I love to support them. The third one I want to share with you today is, “it's all working out perfectly for me.” The universe already has its plan, it's going to happen. Success is happening, there's really no other way. There is no possible way I'm going to fail. My success is happening, it’s inevitable, it’s going to happen. It's all working out perfectly for me exactly as planned.
So create some of your own mantras and say them out loud to yourself. Set them as your alarms in the morning when you wake up. Email them to yourself every morning. Do whatever you need to do to get them into your head and start to truly, truly believe them. You get to believe in your goals and believe in yourself enough that you can reach those before it can actually happen. If we don't believe it can happen it's not going to happen. I know that because there are so many of us who get into our heads and don't believe in ourselves enough right now. I want you to know that you are so worthy of reaching any goal you want and achieving anything that you want to in your business, even those big income goals that you have. I'm hoping that the rest of this podcast episode is going to really help set you up for that success which is inevitable. It's going to happen.
STAYING CONSISTENT WITH YOUR GOALS
Now I want to get into some of the things that you need to start to do to stay consistent with getting towards those goals. It’s not about us hanging out for a week or two the first half of the month and then going all into your business the second half. It's about things you can be doing every single day to ensure that those results will continue to come and that you can continue to grow as well, so that's what I want to get into right now. What are some of the things that you actually need to reach your goals? Maybe you don't know what these are, or maybe you do. Maybe you have a list of things that you do every single day and every single week and every single month in your business to help move the needle forward. Any time I create income goals or anytime I have my clients create income goals or map out their monthly goals or sales plans for the quarter I always have them add in what the actions are that they'll be taking to get there.
I'm going to go through tons of examples for you, but before we dive into the nitty-gritty, the big picture is that you get to add value, right? You get to add value and you get to do it often. It's actually a non-negotiable for me in my business. I add value every single day. Whether it's sending a tip to someone in the DM's, whether that's me hopping on a live, whether it’s me doing a mini training on Instagram stories, recording a new podcast and sharing it with my audience, right? We get to add value, because at the end of the day your value is going to help somebody. It's going to create an impact for your ideal clients. Regardless, if they're going to work with you or not we’re here to create that impact. I truly do believe the bigger the impact that you make, the more value that you add, the more success is going to come your way. I truly, truly believe this, so add value every single day.
Add value as often as you can. Then you get to sell, and you get to sell often. That includes following up and following up often. It's not necessarily about selling once a week and then being done for the rest of the week because not everyone is going to see that. Let's say that you talk about your offer on Instagram stories and all of your ideal clients were off the grid that day, or maybe they were traveling and didn't have cell service, or who knows what. They didn't see your sales piece. Well, they're not going to know that you have anything to offer that could help them move from point A to point B. You can help them get to that transformation that they're looking for and wanting to help them get closer to where they truly want to be. So we get to sell and we get to do it often. It's actually another non-negotiable for me in my business, to sell every day. I truly believe that my service is so, so, so, so incredible, my programs are incredible, and I'm here to help more and more women grow their businesses, start their businesses, and scale their businesses. I know how to do that. It's about selling and really showing people how they can move from point A to point B. People cannot buy from you if they don't know about your offers, so we get to sell and we get to sell often.
We also get to follow-up and follow-up often. There have been so many times where I've opened a message and I wanted to get back to that person, but something else popped out. Maybe somebody called me on my cell phone and I picked that phone up and then never got back to Instagram until later in the evening and then it slipped my mind. Follow up because things just naturally happen. People forget. Follow up, follow up, follow up because people need to hear from you. People need to hear about your offer more than once, more than twice. more than three times. On average it can take 7 to 10 touch points from you for someone to go from a lead to a paying client, so follow up and do it often. We follow up often with our potential clients because, again, we truly believe in ourselves. We truly believe in our programs and we stand behind them as well. As long as those are green light then you get to follow up. Believe in your offer. If you believe in your offer then there's no reason why we should be afraid to follow up or reach out, right? If we are, then there's some type of looming belief. Maybe it's a fear of rejection, maybe it's a fear of being judged if you follow up more than once. We do get to follow up and it can be very simple like, “hey, Melissa, just checking back and seeing if you saw my last message.” Very simple, or even just an emoji, like, hey bumping this back to the top of your inbox. That quick follow-up so that people are reminded. The closer that follow-up is to when the sales conversation started the better and I've got tons of sales podcast episodes if you want to dive into that more, but I want to get into some of the actual activities and actions that you should be taking throughout the rest of the month to make sure you are reaching those goals.
So I asked you this question a few minutes ago, how can you make this a reality? What would the six-figure version of you do? What would the seven-figure version of you do? That next level version of you, what would they do? How would they be showing up on social media right now? How would they be showing up in their business? How would they be showing up for their clients? What are some things that you can do to actually hit your goals? I want to share some examples on how he can be adding value everyday. Posting on social media with captions, with reels, with mini trainings, on Instagram stories, actually being social on social media with content. Other things are posting on Facebook groups, engaging in Facebook groups, going live on whatever platforms you're on, going live and adding value. Another thing you can do is offer free strategy calls, and if it went well and if you are vibing with the person that you offered a strategy call to feel free to invite them into your program. There are so many different things that we can be doing, like reaching out to ten new leads every single day. All of these things are going to move the needle forward in some way in your business and help you get closer to that income goal that you're wanting to hit.
I want you to make a list of things that you can do this week in order to make another sale in your business or two more sales in your business. Whether it's reaching out to new leads or new followers, whether it is reaching out and nurturing some of your older followers, whether it's you following up with someone that you talked about your offer with. I would definitely recommend all of those because those are going to be the easiest since most of them are already warm, especially if you’ve already shared your program with somebody and have already been in conversation about the sale. So chat with them. The sooner, the better. You want that gap to be little, you don't want to not speak for 2 months and then go back and do it. You want to do it within the next day. The smaller the gap the better.
Other things you could do that add value include hosting a challenge or a workshop. All of these things are going to move the needle forward. Of course selling often, and that can be with graphics on your stories, that could be email marketing, do it a few different ways each week. People need different permission slips. Maybe some of your ideal clients have taken a social media detox the first two weeks of February, so then what are you going to do? We get to create different permission slips. There are going to be some who may only utilize email and so reach out to them, share with them, talk about your offers even in your show notes in your podcast. Maybe there are some folks who are ideal clients for you that aren't on social media, but they listen to your podcast and look at the show notes. So there's a lot of different things you can do. Create new ways to do things. Definitely pivot if needed to, but keep going, add value, sell often, and follow up.
So I gave you quite a few different action items to do and some ideas around each of them as well. Again, following up with your leads is going to be such a quick way for you to grab another sale or two this week for your business if not more. It's really a simple conversation once you follow up. It’s you helping them decide whether it's going to be a yes or no and then closing that sale and starting their package, whatever that looks like for you in your business or the course. So, let's make this a reality. What would the six-figure version of you? Would they hop on a live training another time this week to do an FAQ about your program? Would they hop on just to add more value and really be in a place of service? What would that next level version of you do? There's a lot of different things you could do, but really lean in. Your audience is so excited for your content and your things. They follow you for a reason, so we really want to show up as that next level version of you would. Let's make this happen.
GENERATING EXTRA CASH FLOW
Now I want to help you brainstorm a few different ways on how you can generate some extra cash flow this month. Let's say that your sales plan for February was to sell five clients into your group coaching program that's a thousand dollars just to make numbers easy and if you want to add more to that you always can. Just because you make a sales plan for a $5k month doesn't mean that you can’t change it to make it even bigger. I always challenge my clients and ask them, how can we add another 10% on top of this? And then another 20% on top of that? How can we go even bigger? I want to help you brainstorm some extra cash flow. Maybe you filled four of the spots and you're looking to fill that last spot or for some other ways that income can come into your business. Something that I definitely learned over the years is, let's say for example my goal for this month is a $200k sales month and originally I had planned X number of clients for this program and X number for this program, and maybe it didn't necessarily happen the way I planned it to, but that cash and those sales will still come in other forms, right? Maybe instead of ten clients into my mastermind and ten clients into my academy, or whatever that looks like, maybe we brought in 12 clients in the mastermind, eight into the academy, and then one private client. It can be created in so many different ways, so don't feel like you have to follow your sales plan line-by-line. You're allowed to pivot, you're allowed to make changes, you’re allowed to adjust, you're allowed to add more. This is your business, you get to make up the rules.
So here are a few ways for you to generate some extra cash flow if you are feeling a little far away from your goal. Again, we're only seven days in, so you still have so much time. The time it takes to make a sale is literally seconds. The time it takes to make that transaction happen is seconds. You can still do so much in the next three weeks before the month ends. My favorite part about running my own business is there's literally no income cap. I can have a $20,000 sales day if I wanted to today, and there are days throughout the month that I do. So ask yourself, what's going to feel best in your business?
Let's say you're currently selling one-on-one spots, but energetically maybe you feel drained because you've overloaded yourself accidentally with one-on-one. Well, if you feel drained, if you feel overloaded, what's going to happen is subconsciously you probably won't be showing up on social media as much as you thought you were going to for those spots because maybe you don't actually want to fill those spots since you're so overloaded with one-on-one. So what's going to feel easier? Again, you can make changes to your sales plans. Instead of selling one-on-one if you're overloaded and have too many one-on-one clients, create spots in other things. Whether that’s going to be a group course or a group coaching program, whether that's pre-selling spots for your March start date for one-on-one. You get to make up the rules here. What will feel easier for you? Keep in mind that you don't necessarily need to start your clients right away. It's when you're ready to get them started.
The other thing I want to chat about is secret menu items. I love, love, love secret menu items. This is a fun thing I've created and they're basically things that you have in your back pocket that you don't always sell. Maybe you don't always sell it to the public, maybe you only sell them to past clients, maybe they are things that you just pull out once in a while when you feel like selling a secret menu item. When it comes to selling secret menu items, I recommend selling things that you already have or things that are easy to recreate. So for example, I have quite a few courses I’ve created over the years that are sitting in my vault that aren't available for sale right now. I can pull one of those out this week and say hey, we've got five spots for this course open. We're going to give it to five people this week at 10% off or a flash-sale. We've got other things that we create secret menu items around that we don't necessarily need to create something new for. If we want to give a month of Voxer support to a past client who maybe is looking for a little bit more support we can always do that. Maybe it's a one month private coaching package, which I personally don't do very often, usually it's a 6-month minimum. So there are different things that you can pull out for some quick cash flow, and you can keep that to a limited number of spots or people if you want to create some extra and quick cash flow. Share about it on your Instagram stories. You can say, hey, we're bringing this back for 24 hours, send me a DM with word blank, whatever word you want to choose, if you're interested. It's going to be gone after the next 24 hours goes by. So it can be quick. You can send a quick email to your list, hey we're bringing this back out of the vault for 24 hours or 48 hours, whatever time frame feels good to you. There's no right or wrong on how to do that. You can always create quick cash flow, and yes you can sell more than one thing at one time. We are usually always selling two or three different programs at a time. We always fill spots every single month. You're allowed to sell more than once. So secret menu items are things that you don't need to recreate. Do you have an old ebook? Do you have old courses or old workshops that you posted that you can bundle up into a mini-course? There are a lot of different things you can do without necessarily adding more work to your plate. You can also presell into quarter two. Maybe you're going to be relaunching your group program in a month or two. You could always start pre-selling spots now. I've brought clients in and we've had clients sign up for programs, two to three months before the program actually starts to lock their spot in. You can always pre-sell into the next month or the next quarter. Again, whatever is going to feel best to you. We've got so much time left in this month to reach those income goals.
I'm going to wrap up here so you can get to work and put some of these action items into place. Again, you've got your mantras, you’ve got your mindset shifts that we talked about today, and so many different action items for you to get the needle moving forwards. We touched, again, on mindset shifts to reach your goals this month, the actions that you need to stay consistent with to see results, ways for you to generate some extra cash flow this month, and so, so much more.
