Today, we have a very special guest with us, Savannah Hamilton, she’s a lifestyle creator and a mindset coach. She helps high performing women create a life they’ve always desired and she helps them discover who they were always meant to be.
Savannah started her journey at one of her lowest times. After moving to Iowa for a nurse practitioner position she wasn’t passionate about, leaving an unfaithful relationship and removing herself from her socialite life is the same time that she found her lack of self worth and self love once all of those external factors were removed, she wasn’t happy alone with herself. She now is back in California and just recently put in her resignation from her nurse practitioner job to go full time as a coach, something she has been in for over 2.5 years now.
“I want to encourage anybody that is leaving and that is making this transition.. Don’t try to push through it, don’t try to rush through this, really sit with your emotions. They are all here for a reason and this is a healing process as well.”
Can you share with us some of your most self limiting beliefs?
One that has been holding on to the belief that coming from my family, small town, etc., that we’re just not good with finances and thinking that I was never taught that and giving away my power because I’m not financially smart and really diving into that and understanding my finances. I didn’t feel like I was worthy or that I could possibly make that myself.
Can you tell us what self limiting beliefs really are?
We all form these belief systems as we grow up and a lot of the beliefs are forming in childhood whether that be our parents, our society, all of them are mainly formed around ages 4-8 and that’s where we build the foundation of our belief systems, so a lot of times when we experience fear or something that we don't think we can do, it’s actually associated to the beliefs that we formed as a child.
A limiting belief is something that is no longer serving you in your adulthood but it’s something that was formed when you were a child. I always thought money was scarce, never to indulge, we lived paycheck to paycheck, those are the examples I was shown growing up and that formed my belief system as an adult.
If I want to have an abundant life, then I needed to let go of those beliefs that I formed as a child.
How would someone start to identify some of these on their own?
A quick easy tool that can help you identify your own limiting beliefs is, say if you're coming into resistance or there’s something you want to achieve or do in life but you don't think you're capable, have the financial means, etc.
You state what you want and as soon as you feel yourself saying “but” the sentence immediately following the “but” sentence is your limiting belief. Take a piece of paper and draw a line down the middle, on the left side write what you want and on the right side, write the “but” part of your sentence and that is your limiting belief.
Once you start to identify your limiting beliefs you start to structure and breakdown the belief and understand how it’s not true and debunk it.
How do you start to debunk?
You need to rewire your brain, you’re not just going to accept that those beliefs aren’t yours anymore. You really have to start to restructure, to breakdown, to debunk, to prove to yourself that these myths, these old beliefs no longer serving you aren’t true. From there you start to restructure and cultivate new beliefs. Then, it’s really important to write it in form that supports you in your highest self. What is a new affirmation that can support you and rewrite it.
How often would you recommend rewriting your list?
I don't think you have to do it daily, maybe in the beginning when you’re figuring out what your limiting beliefs are. But really maybe once a month is a good time and especially if you’re diving into this self belief, you’ll always be diving into new blocks, questions, etc. I think once a month is a great practice.
3 steps that you can take today to act in alignment with your higher self:
This starts by slowing down, creating space and going within.
Cultivate a self love practice. As women we’re so used to pouring out the love, giving, being there for everybody and not taking a moment to actually have gratitude for all that we’ve accomplished, not loving ourselves unconditionally. Giving the love you give others to yourself.
When we come from a place of love and from a place of gratitude you find a lot less resistance in the world, you’re less harsh on yourself, you’re less harsh on others and you start to cultivate that abundant mindset.I love to practice guided meditation, gratitude practice in the morning or before bed.
Creating a safe container to journal. I was really resistant on this because I was so used to being in this masculine mindset and we never really teach ourselves to express ourselves from our heart and journaling has really allowed me to sit with myself and speak from my heart than just speaking from my mind.

Everybody that starts this journey is going to have resistance to it, but I promise you once you create some space and time to give to yourself it will be so beneficial.
