When we work day-to-day in our business, we may sometimes wonder if things are really coming together yet or if things haven't started working yet. This is something that many entrepreneurs in the early phases go through. There was an interesting experiment conducted by an institute on this. They dropped 30 to 60 people in the middle of the forest and told them to find their way home with no technological equipment, only themselves. What ended up happening was people were walking in full circles or walking in a straight line. It was almost like trying to walk across a football field with a blindfold on. It was nearly impossible. What they learned was that without any clear markers of distance or direction, or knowing where they were, micro-adjustments were constantly happening. People were constantly changing their sense of direction.

What I've learned over the years is that this can be overcome once you have a distinct landmark to work towards and you can get there so much faster with a compass or GPS. Similar to business, if a business doesn't devote time to determine where it wants to go, seek ways to get there, and identify landmarks, it is just going to spin in circles over and over again. We want to create a plan so that we have an idea of where we're heading. Spending time each month or each quarter on some of those bigger projects can help move your business forward. Today's episode is one of those moments for you. We will spend the next 15-20 minutes really outlining your sales plan and giving you insights and so much more.

Income Goals

So let's look into the next quarter. If you're wondering what to sell, when to sell, or how to sell, it can be overwhelming. This is exactly what I'm going to help you break down for you today, so it doesn't feel so scary and it does feel doable. The way I recommend we do this is, first, we want to think about your income goal for the next quarter. A quarter is three months at a time. Think about the income goal you would like to make in July, August, and September as a whole. How much do you want to bring in during the next few months? Is it $20,000, $50,000, $100,000, $200,000, or $250,000? As insane as some of these numbers may sound, don't tell yourself the story that it's too much or there's no way you can do that.

To make this possible, we will create a sales plan that will help you achieve your income goal for the next quarter. We will look at what to sell, when to sell, and how to sell it. By creating a sales plan, you will have a clear idea of what you need to do to reach your income goal. This will help you focus your efforts on the right tasks, rather than wasting time on things that won't help you achieve your goals.

It's important to note that creating a sales plan is not just about making money. It's also about doing what you love and making a difference in the world. It's about having the freedom to live life on your own terms, to take that dream vacation, or spend more time with your family. It's about having the time and resources to give back and make an impact in your community or the world.

So, let's get started with creating your sales plan for the next quarter. First, we need to determine your income goal. Once we have that number, we can start to create a plan that will help you achieve it. We'll look at what products or services you can offer, when to offer them, and how to promote them. We'll also discuss the importance of tracking your progress and making adjustments as needed.

By the end of this episode, you will have a clear sales plan for the next quarter that will help you achieve your income goal. So, let's dive in and get started!

I want to share with you that you can achieve anything in life and in business. I've seen the evidence in my own success and in the success of my clients. I encourage you to think bigger and stretch your goals even further than what you originally wrote down. Let's make this next quarter your biggest yet.

Impact and Personal Goals 

In addition to income goals, I also recommend setting impact and personal goals for yourself. Your business is about more than just making money.

Now, let's talk about my Q3 sales plan. We have our 2023 Q3 sales plan mapped out since the beginning of the year, and it's going to be a fun and exciting quarter. We like to focus on one core program every month, but behind the scenes, we may be filling spots in multiple programs.

Get Started with Your Business

If you're interested in learning more about how to start your online coaching or service-based business, creating irresistible offers, turning your audience into a loyal community, and selling without feeling sleazy, I highly recommend my signature program, the Fierce Business Academy. It's the first step in expanding your product suite and automating your business. We'll also be selling the Fierce Business Mastermind in August, which is the next step for more advanced business owners.

In September, we will be selling two different offers, including a coaching program and a course. When deciding what to sell and when to sell it, consider the capacity of each program and estimate your potential income for Q3.

Create a game plan for how you will promote and sell your offers, whether it's through Evergreen offers or live launches. Let's make this quarter your best one yet!

Maybe you have coaching programs that are live launches a few times throughout the year. Spell out how many of those you plan to sell each month and continue to improve your business with natural systems and automation to increase sales over time with continued marketing strategies. Map out what you want to sell for July, August, and September, and determine the capacity for the offer and price point. Consider increasing prices for each cohort of a program, which you could do once or twice per year. Add your sales calendar and plans to understand your potential income.

After making your sales plan, you will have a great understanding of your income potential for Q3, for July, August, and September. Don't get trapped into thinking you should be doing more. Make choices that feel good for you, not based on what you see around you. Your sales plan can clarify what to sell first or next. Determine what is your most profitable program or product right now, and focus on that. Have fun with the programs you enjoy the most. Allow yourself the permission to change your plan if needed.

Use a Google Calendar for all of your sales plans. Map it out in a Google doc, and input it into your Google Calendar. Decide what you're going to sell, when you're going to sell it, and how many you can sell. Set your goal and decide how you will stay on track. Then, start to implement and take action. Things don't happen unless we take action.

In summary, map out your Q3 goals, determine your sales calendar and plan, and focus on your most profitable program or product. Remember to make choices that feel good for you, and don't be afraid to change your plan if needed. Use a Google Calendar to stay organized and on track.
